Words on Marble

Hey there! The term is slowly rolling to an end yeah? Just a few more weeks to go before the winter (Christmas) break. So how has it been so far?

For me it has been one big bowl of juggling administrative and academic duties, add a dose of student behavior issues, a bout of flu, several helpings of great instructional delivery, a pinch of not-so-great instructional delivery, and some spoons of I-really-don’t-feel-like-going-to-work-today, all rolled into one.

Like every profession, teaching has its perks and if you are really ‘in it to win it’ then you gotta find a way to stay motivated and never lose sight of your goals as you strive towards becoming a master teacher.

One of the major ways I keep my eyes on the joy set ahead is to keep a list of quotable quotes pasted beside my work area in my room (classroom I mean).I glance at them ever so often, read them out loud sometimes and think about them all of the time.
Enjoy some of my favs and please drop a note to let me know which number(s) you love best or to add some of yours.

1.         I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
2.      The successful teacher chooses to improve, chooses to continue to learn.

3.      The biggest secret to teaching success is to “beg,” “borrow” and “steal” good ideas

4.      A professional is defined not by the business a person is in, but by the way that person does his or her business.

5.      The main role of a teacher is to help every student reach the highest possible level of achievement.

6.      Professional educators chose to invest in themselves by reading professionally and attending professional meetings and conferences. They chose to work cooperatively with the entire staff for the benefit of the children.

7.   Each and every teacher has the ability to be effective. The key is perseverance and the belief that every student has the ability to learn.

8.      Learning is not about what the teacher covers. Learning has to do with what the student accomplishes.

9.      The more a teacher learns, the more the students will learn.

10.  Ours is the business of producing smiles on young faces, happiness in young hearts and dreams in young minds. The rest will take care of itself.

Please share to encourage a teacher today!
